History to Go

History To Go VanLets us bring the Museum to you in our History to Go van. Each classroom program includes facilitated activities lead by a trained museum teacher that highlight Boulder’s unique history. These programs are available to both public and private schools within the Boulder Valley School District boundaries. Please contact the Museum for additional fees outside of Boulder Valley. State Standards and benchmarks addressed in Museum programs are available upon request.

Beto and the Bone Dance


Recommended for K-2nd grade

We’ll transform your classroom and students into a colorful and dynamic celebration of Dia de los Muertos. This program includes storytelling, hands-on artifacts exportation, art making and drama games.

$60/program (One Hour)


Sugar Skulls/Calaveras


Recommended for 3rd-8th grade

Sugar skulls are a traditional treat and art form created for the celebration of Dia de los muertos. After a brief discussion, each student will decorate their own sugar skull for display at your classroom Dia de los muertos alter!

History to Go!


Recommended for 2nd-5th grade

This traveling History Detectives program brings authentic artifacts and archival materials into your classroom! This 60 minute program is lead by a trained Museum Teacher. Students are introduced to the process of historical inquiry using the stories and materials of the hardworking miners, homesteaders and merchants who settled here. $60/program (One and half hours)


Home on the Plains:
Native Americans of the Boulder Valley Artifact Trunk


This trunk includes over 30 reproduction Arapaho and Cheyenne artifacts as well as a Teacher's Guide, videos, books and photographs. It is designed with everything you need to facilitate activities and artifact exploration with your students in your classroom.

$10/week plus refundable $10 deposit.
